Nasi Campur is a widely known Balinese food and it is not difficult to find. It is made from a bowl of steamed rice, mixed with steamed veggies with shredded spicy coconut, coconut milk, fried nuts, few shreds of fried/dry curry chicken, chopped seasoning, meat or fish, and hot traditional chili sauce.

The most popular Balinese food is Babi Guling. It is made from a whole pig, suckled with spice paste and vegetables inside, and subsequently grilled and rolled up over with dried coconut shells until the time when it is perfectly done. If you have a conversation with any local about their food, they are likely to ask if you have already tasted Babi Guling.

Another typical Balinese food you will usually see on the list of food options is Bebek Betutu. It is created from chicken or duck, chopped or not, and filled up with spices which include salaam leaf, galangal, turmeric, ginger, kencur, garlic, onion, and chilies inside. Numerous restaurants have this on their food list but it takes hours to put together, and so it is better to order it one day in advance.
